These guys were great. And the bikes were very nice. And we had a lovely time riding around Lucca and out to Villa Reale to eat lunch and drink wine. We would definitely recommend renting bikes from Chrono and using them to enjoy the Tuscan countryside.
We (4 cycling friends) rented road bikes for four days to ride in the region. Communication was fluid and fast. The bikes (Pinarello Gan Disc) were in very good conditions and Paladino, the owner was very friendly and helpful. Some good advice on trips and fast technical assistance when needed before a ride. The city of Lucca is a perfect starting and end point, with its bars, restaurants and charming piazza’s. The region is very diverse, with some flat roads, but also some very beautiful hills and mountains. Recommended!

Excellent bike shop. Rent a casual city bike to tour the city walls. Rent a high end pinarello to see why Lucca is an cycling epicenter!
Great bikes. Well maintained and friendly staff. No advertising on the bikes 😀. I would definitely rent from them again. If I had more time I would have had a good look around the shop had some good clothing.
Excellent hiring experience. Helpful staff. (Excellent English spoken which made up for my dreadful Italian!) Hired bikes for three hours. Cycled along the city walls and through the narrow streets. Great way to see the city.
These guys are the best!! First of all, an easy-breezy rental process. They are super friendly and get you on bikes and enjoying Lucca without delay. The bikes are great quality, and sized right for everyone in my family.
Now, above and beyond all that – my wife’s credit card case fell out of her bag and was left in the basket of the bicycle. The guys at Chrono found it and worked with me to get it shipped back to the U.S.

We had such a phenomenal two days with Paladino! We rented e-bikes and did a wine and olive oil tasting. Paladino is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and an awesome local guide. He’s owned his shop for 30 years and knows the best routes for a great time! Our friends even brought their dog along for an adventure. Come visit Lucca and check out Chrono Bikes!!

English as we planned our trip from Australia to Lucca for 4 days of riding. He managed to answer all my questions comprehensively and provided a high level of confidence before travelling. Once there we were fitted out by Paladino (the Master) on some excellent Pinarello road bikes with all the gear we needed. The riding, including days to the coast via Pisa and Via Reggio were excellent and the bikes just magic. A small plug for my Hammerhead bike computer that provided hassle-free route planning and turn for turn GPS navigation. Fantastic service all round by the Chrono team – no wonder they have been in the business for 30 years – Excellent!!!!
Best bike hire shop in Lucca! A family run business trading for 30 years where they rent not only city bikes suitable for families etc. but high end quality Pinarello road and gravel bikes which are well maintained. Friendly service by Paladino and his son Carlo and helpful route suggestions.

My family and I were in Lucca for about a month.
The single best decision we made was to rent bikes from Chrono Bikes. The price was right. The bikes were great! We got a kid seat, locks, and helmets. Our memories on those bikes are priceless.
The selection of “real” bikes, apparel, and supplies is impressive.
The family that runs it were so lovely and generous. So grateful for them.

“Amazing day with Paladino. We were staying in Florence and took the train to Lucca, met up at Chrono Bikes in Lucca and off we went on a 5 hour adventure into the hills of Tuscany outside of Lucca. Amazing scenery then stopped and did a great wine tour and lunch at Tenuta Adamo winery with equally impressive views. Bike ride was a blast and used e-bikes that helped with some of the challenging hills. An absolute 5 star experience and could not recommend
