Flexibility of the tours

Our tour proposals are flexible and can be tailor made on the customer’s needs. Destinations, length and difficulty of the rides, meals and post ride activities can be scheduled and organized differently on request.


Duration: 5 days – 4 nights (4 days cycling)
Where: Lucca, Tuscany, Italy, a walled city with more than 2000 years of history in the north-western Tuscany.
It is located in the “plain of Lucca”, a flat area surrounded on three sides by many hills and mountains (the highest peaks, 15kms far from the city, are about 1000m height).
The closest countryside is reachable in less than 2 kms from the historical city center, the Mediterranean Sea is just 25 kms away, while the Apuan Alps are 50kms far. This location and the morphology of the area make Lucca one of the greatest places where to ride in Italy and Europe.
The city is also known internationally for its typical food and wine products.
Below a sample of programma:
Day 1: Welcome to Lucca!
• Transfer from Florence or Pisa airport to Lucca;
• Check in at the Hotel San Marco, 100m far from Lucca city center;
• Bike pick-up and fitting at Chronò bike shop; and then “sgambatella“ (test bike 30 km)
• Dinner in a typical restaurant in the city center; “Orti di via Elisa”
• Stay in Hotel San Marco.
Day 2: Ride in the area of Lucca
• Breakfast at the Hotel San Marco;
• 80-100 kms, 1000-1500 m elevation, ride in the area of Lucca;
• Dinner in a typical restaurant in the city center;  “Mecenate”
• Stay in Hotel San Marco.

Day 3: Villa Collemandina

• Breakfast at the Hotel San Marco;
• 100 kms – 1200 m elevation ride to Villa Collemandina, a location in the heart of the tuscan
Appennino mountains, about 1000 meters height on sea-level, visiting the picturesque
towns of Bagni di Lucca and Barga on the way;
• Check in at the “Hotel Linda” in Villa Collemandina;
• Dinner at the hotel;
• Stay in Hotel Linda.

Day 4: Route of San Pellegrino – Passo del Trebbio

• Breakfast at the “Hotel Linda”.
• 100 kms, 1300m elevation ride to Lucca, climbing Passo delle Radici (1400m above sealevel) descending the famous route of San Pellegrino and climbing Passo del Trebbio to return to Lucca, crossing Collodi, the town of Pinocchio, on the way back.
• Dinner in Lucca city center;  “La Buca di Sant’Antonio”
• Stay in Hotel San Marco;


Day 5: Arrivederci.

• Breakfast at Hotel San Marco;
• Before check out 50-60 kms, 450-550m elevation ride in Lucca area, up to the coast and back;
• Shower in Hotel San Marco and checkout;
• Transfer from Lucca to Florence or Pisa airpor

Included services:
• Transfer from/to Pisa or Florence International airports.
• All lodging in double single bedroom in the hotels.
• All breakfasts.
• All dinners in the selected restaurants.
• Hi-end Pinarello road bike rental, (carbon frame). Bikes are equipped with: Fulcrum wheels, disk brakes and Shimano Ultegra 11s mechanical groupset (50-34 chainring – 11-32 cassette).
• Helmet, water bidons, pedals (look keo or Shimano Road or MTB).
• Professional cycling guides certified by the Italian Cycling Federation.
• Mechanical assistance during the rides.
Wine tasting in Lucca’s historical wine shop.
• One post-ride massage by a professional cycling masseur.
• Daily bike tune ups and washing.
• Laundry service for bike clothing;
• Luggage transport from Hotel San Marco to Hotel Linda on day 3 and return to Lucca on day 4.
Not included services:
• Flight tickets.
• Wine during the meals.
• Everthing that is not mentioned in the “Included services”.
The hotels considered for this proposal are two, “Hotel San Marco”,  and Hotel Linda.
Hotel San Marco is a 3 star hotel located 300m meters far from Lucca’s city walls. It provides a secured room for storing the bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and a big terrace.
Hotel Linda is a quaint and authentic mountain hotel located at 1000 meters above sea level, on the tuscan Apennine, and it faces a big terrace with a stunning view on the Pania di Corfino. It also has a restaurant that offers delicious local specialities.
