It is located in the “plain of Lucca”, a flat area surrounded on three sides by many hills and mountains (the highest peaks, 15kms far from the city, are about 1000m height).
The closest countryside is reachable in less than 2 kms from the historical city center, the Mediterranean Sea is just 25 kms away, while the Apuan Alps are 50kms far. This location and the morphology of the area make Lucca one of the greatest places where to ride in Italy and Europe.
The city is also known internationally for its typical food and wine products.
